The Bruery The Wanderer returns in 2013

The Bruery in collaboration with City Beer Store in San Francisco introduced The Wanderer in 2011.  It quickly became widely popular locally and across the US by beer traders.  The Wanderer will return as mystery beer #2 to the Reserve Society and Hoarder’s Society members.  No word yet on whether this will see the hands of the general public.

First of all, we are very excited to announce that the second Mystery Beer of 2013 is none other than The Wanderer and it will make it’s debut at our Barrel Party!  This fruited sour ale was first brewed along with some friends from City Beer Store in San Francisco back in 2011, when it won a Silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival.  It is a unique blend of a number of our barrel aged strong ales and sour ales to which we added blackberries and cherries.  A bottle of this beer is already included in your membership and further allocations will be on sale soon.

The Wanderer is a special blend of oak aged ales that we made with Craig and Beth from San Francisco’s City Beer Store. Blanding a mix of sour ales and our anniversary ale the base of this beer has a delightfully sour tinge on top of a hearty malt backbone. To add to the flavor, Craig and Beth selected blackberries and bing cherries to be added to the ale adding to it’s already fruity complexity. This ale went on to win the silver medal for wood & barrel aged sour fruited ales at the 2011 Great American Beer Festival.
